It's Time ... to Get Out of Your Own Ways
Did you know that most of our challenges arise within the relationships we have with ourselves and others. We often find ourselves stuck in life and don’t realise that we are getting in our own ways. We have created our own barriers to success and happiness and got caught up in the busyness of routine mundane demands of life.
Waiting for other people or external situations to change before we can be happy leaves us feeling powerless and stuck, lasting days, weeks even years.
Gaining insights and learning strategies to remove these barriers, will powerfully get you out of your own ways, letting you to really start living your best life. Remember, We only have one life!
Self-awareness is the key to opening the door to freedom followed by taking action to become unstuck.
Strategies:
Pause and take three deep breaths at any/many points during your day. (when waking, leaving your home, at traffic lights, on a lunch break, before bedtime)
Ask yourself the following questions:
1. What am I currently thinking about at this moment? Is more positive or negative? Is this thought helpful? If not, let it move on.
2. How am I feeling right now? Content, peaceful, agitated, anxious? Acknowledge the feeling and sit with it. Don’t push the feeling away and be gentle with yourself.
3. What action can I take right now to empower myself? Take that action.
Self-awareness and taking action leads to inner trust and confidence. Without these two strategies, the feeling of helplessness in challenging situations is exhausting and emotionally painful.
Starting today, get to know yourself more and take some positive actions for change.
